Uttar Pradesh Teachers Eligibility Test (UPTET) is a state level teaching qualifying exam conducted by Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Board (UPBEB). The exam is conducted for the recruitment of Primary and Upper Primary Level teachers in the state of Uttar Pradesh.

Every year, thousands of candidates appear for the examinations and last year too more than 18 lakh candidates appeared for the exam.

There are two papers in UPTET. Paper-I is given by those candidates who want to become teacher of Class I – Class V, while paper-II is given by those candidates who wants to teach the students of Class V – Class VIII.

The dates for the exams may be changed by the board but we are providing you the expected exam dates based on the previous year schedule.

UPTET 2020 Registration Form

All the interested candidates should fill the UPTET registration form from the official website of the board. The form should be filled within the prescribed period. The application forms are expected to be available in the first week of August 2020.

  • At the time of filing the application form, candidates shall make sure that they fulfill the eligibility criteria required to apply for the particular category.
  • Candidates should also read other instructions properly so that no problem occurs in the further process.
  • No request for the correction of particulars will be entertained by the Board once the date for correction is over.
  • The candidates should keep the hard copy of the application form with themselves for further reference.

Application Fee:

  • Rs400/- for General/OBC Candidates
  • Rs200/- for SC/ST Candidates
  • Physically challenged candidates are exempted from paying the fee

Payment Mode:

Applicaation fee can be paid either online (by net banking/credit card/debit card) or offline (by generating challan from the website and submitting the print and fee to the nearest SBI branch).

If the payment is made through offline mode, then the candidates have to enter the details stamped on the challan to the application form for completing the application process.

If candidates want to apply for both the papers, separate application form will be filled for both.

Uttar Pradesh Teacher’s Vacancy

The UPTET is a qualifying exam and hence no such vacancies are released in the notification released by the board. After qualifying the exam, the candidates become eligible to go for interviews in the Government or Private School.

The scorecard and certificate given to the candidates after qualifying the exam is a proof that the candidates have good knowledge about their subjects and they are eligible to teach in primary & secondary schools.

The certificate is given separately for all the levels which also help the schools in getting to know if the candidates can teach in a particular class.

Uttar Pradesh Teacher’s Salary

The salary of the teachers depends upon their eligibility, experience and qualification and also differs from school to school. The salary in the Government school may increase according to the pay commission.

According to a report, the average salary of the teachers in Uttar Pradesh will range between 9000/- to 35000/- or more depending the pay commission and various other factors.

UPTET 2020 Eligibility Criteria

There are some basic eligibility criteria which are mandatory for everyone:

  • Must be the citizen of India
  • Age should be between 18 years to 35 years
  • Must have a UGC Recognized Bachelor’s degree with minimum 50% marks in the exam which is qualified by the candidate
  • Have secured minimum 50% marks in the Intermediate exams

Other Eligibility criteria are given below and if the candidates fulfill even any one of the following condition, they become eligible for applying for UPTET 2020.

For Primary Teachers:

  • Have bachelor’s degree
  • Have either completed or are studying in the 2nd year of BTC from an institute recognized by NCTE
  • Have either completed or are in the final year of Diploma in Teaching from Aligarh Muslim University
  • Have completed or are in the final year of B.El.Ed
  • Have completed or are studying in the final year of B.Ed (Specialization) from an RCI recognized institute

For Upper Primary Teachers:

  • Have bachelor’s or master’s degree with minimum 50% marks in aggregate
  • Have completed or are studying in the final year of B.Ed (Specialization) from an RCI recognized institute
  • Have completed or are in the final year of B.El.Ed
  • Have either completed or are studying in the 2nd year of BTC/LT/B.Ed from an institute recognized by NCTE

The reservation conditions of UPTET applicable as per the norms set by the Government of India. A candidate can give any number of attempts to qualify UPTET.

UPTET 2020 Exam Pattern

The exam pattern for UPTET exam is given below:

Exam mode: The exam will be conducted in offline mode

Duration: The candidates are given 150 minutes to complete the test

Language: The language of the paper will be bilingual, English and Hindi except the sections that are based on the concerned language subjects for test.

There is no negative marking for the wrong answers and the qualifying marks for the exam is 60%, i.e. 90 marks (for General) and 55%, i.e. 83 marks (for reserved categories).

UPTET 2020 Syllabus

The syllabus of UPTET 2020 contains various subjects like Child Development & Pedagogy, Mathematics, EVS, Languages, Social Studies and Social Science.

The Paper-I and Paper-II will generally focus on the educational psychology of learning and teaching of the students from Class I – Class V and Class VI – Class VIII respectively.

Candidates are expected to understand the need of the learners and should have qualities of a good facilitator of learning.

The language section will focus on the skills related to the medium of instructions. Similarly, all the sections will focus on the conceptual understanding of the concerned topics.

In Paper- II, the candidates can choose between Mathematics and Science or Social Studies and Social Science. Candidates can also refer NCERT books of Class 6th to Class 8th to have a better understanding about the subjects and questions asked.

UPTET 2020 Selection Process

There is no such selection process in UPTET as the selection will be based upon the personal interviews taken by the schools in which the candidate will apply.

The UPTET just makes sure that the person is eligible to become a teacher. It does not give the candidate any right to be appointed in the schools.

UPTET 2020 Admit Card

Candidates will have to download the admit card of UPTET 2020 from the official website of the board by entering their application number and password provided to them.

In case any mistake or discrepancy is noticed by the candidate regarding the details or center, he or she may immediately contact the exam cell for the correction before a prescribed date.

All the candidates are advised to read and understand the instructions on the admit card carefully and duly follow them. The mandatory documents and proof that is required to be bring along with the admit card is also mentioned in the admit card.

No candidate is allowed to enter the examination center unless he/she produce the admit card. The admit card is generally available one week before the exams.

UPTET 2020 Cut-off

UPTET 2020 Cut-off marks will soon be available by the board after the declaration of the result. The result is announced by UPMSP through its official website.

The UPTET cut-off marks are the minimum marks required to get qualified in the exam.

The category wise cut-off marks are available in the official website of UPTET and candidates can check it by entering the required details.

The cut-off for a particular examination depends upon the number of candidates appearing, difficulty level of the exam, number of seats available, etc.

For now, we can just provide you last year cut-off list and with that you can get an idea about the performance of the candidates applying for different categories. The candidates are required to acquire the minimum marks to get qualified in the examinations.

UPTET 2020 Result

A merit list is released by the board in its official site and the candidates who are declared qualified are awarded a certificate by the Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Board.

  • UPTET 2020 result is declared in the month of July in the form of a scorecard.
  • A separate certificate is given by the board to those candidates who appeared and qualified more than one level.
  • Students can check their result by logging in to the official website and then selecting the result option.
  • The result is displayed on the screen when the students fill in the required details like application id, roll number, etc. & click on submit button.
  • The answer key is also available on the site few days before the announcement of the result.
  • The statement of the marks is available by the board in the official website and candidates can check the result there only by entering their registration number.

Mere qualifying in UPTET does not give any right of appointment to the candidate. The appointment depends upon the appointing authorities.
