Indian Air Force X & Y 2020 Vacancies & Salary

The pay and allowances of X & Y trades are mentioned below:

  • Pay & Allowances (Training) – At the time of training, stipend of Rs. 14,600/- per month will be paid.
  • Pay for Group X Trades – Rs.33,100/- per month plus Dearness allowance (as applicable) which, in subsequent years, may rise as per the career progression.
  • Pay for Group Y Trades – Rs. 26,900/- per month plus Dearness allowance (as applicable) which, in subsequent years, may rise as per the career progression of the individual.
  • Other Allowances – Transport Allowance, Leave Ration Allowance (LRA), High Altitude Allowance, Composite Personal Maintenance Allowance (CPMA), Field Area/Modified Field Area Allowance, Hostel Subsidy, HRA, Children Education Allowance are also applicable.
  • Promotion – Promotion will exist up to the rank of Master Warrant Officer (MWO). Opportunities to become a Commissioned Officer also exist for those airmen who qualify the respective examinations, later during their service career.

Age Limit:

  • Candidates must have born between 14th July 1999 to 26th June 2002 to apply for Indian Air Force X & Y 2020 vacancies.
  • After clearing all the stages of selection procedure, the upper age limit should be 21 years.

Educational Eligibility:

  • For Group X (Except Education Instructor Trade) –
    • 12th or equivalent exam passed with physics, mathematics and English subjects.
    • Candidates must have 50% in aggregate and 50% marks in English.
    • Three year diploma course from a Government recognized Polytechnic institute with 50% marks.
  • Group Y {Except Automobile Technician, GTI, IAF (P), IAF(S) and Musician} Trades –
    • 10+2 or equivalent exam passed in any stream from any recognized board.
    • Minimum 50% in aggregate and 50% marks in English are mandatory in the qualifying exam.
  • Group Y Medical Assistant Trade Only –
    • 12th or equivalent exam passed with physics, chemistry, English and biology subjects.
    • It is necessary to obtain 50% in aggregate and 50% marks in English subject.

  • Candidates must be physically fit as per the rules & regulations set by the authority.

Indian Air Force X & Y 2020 Recruitment Process

The recruitment process of Indian Air Force X & Y 2020 will comprises of three stages, i.e. Online Test, PFT (Physical Fitness Test) and Medical Examination. Candidates should qualify all the stages to get selected.

Candidates who will qualify the online test will be invited for PFT at designated Airmen selection centre. The PFT will consist of 1.6 Km run to be completed within 06 minutes 30 seconds, 10 Push-ups, 10 Sit-ups and 20 Squats should also be completed within the stipulated time.

After that, they have to qualify the Adaptability Test. It is organized to select candidates who can adapt to the environment of Indian Air Force and are able to adjust to the military way of life.

Candidates who will qualify the Adaptability Test will get a medical appointment letter at respective ASCs. It will be conducted by Air Force Medical Team as per IAF medical standards and policy. After completing this, candidates will be finally selected for various trades.
