IBPS PO Recruitment

Institute of Banking and personal selection (IBPS) conducts IBPS PO/MT exams every year, or sometimes twice a year (depending on the number of vacancies available in the associate banks). The IBPS PO/MT exam is conducted for recruiting the candidates at the post of Probationary officer (PO) or Management Trainee (MT) in various participating banks of IBPS. The IBPS PO recruitment is one of the top level exam for entry to the officer level post in all the nationalized banks participating in IBPS. How to Become PO/Management Trainee (MT)

If you’re someone who is interested in doing a job in the nationalized banks as an officer than you have to clear IBPS PO exam, the exam is conducted in two tiers i.e. Pre and Mains. The candidates qualifying in the pre exams are allowed to appear in the IBPS Main exam. After clearing the Main and interview round, the final merit list is prepared and the candidates are shortlisted as per the merit (i.e. scored obtained in Mains and Interview).

The successful candidates are called for training which is of 18 months and this period is also known as probation period. After successfully completing the training the candidates are posted as an assistant manager  in any branch of the respective bank located anywhere in the country.

IBPS PO Recruitment Schedule and Dates

The recruitment for the post of PO/MT is organized by IBPS every year, generally there is no fixed dates for the announcement of the application form, but forms are available mostly during the month of July or at the end of the year. IBPS PO Exam Pattern

The IBPS PO exam is conducted in two parts, Tier 1 and Tier 2, the Tier 1 exam is called preliminary exam or pre exam and the latter one is Main exam (Tier 2). The candidates who will successfully clear the IBPS pre exam will be called for the IBPS Main exam i.e. Tier 2. Therefore it is important for the candidates to understand the paper pattern thoroughly.

IBPS Preliminary Exam Pattern (Tier 1)

In this examination the question will be asked from Reasoning, Quantitative aptitude, English Comprehension/Language. The paper will be of objective type and consist of negative marking for every wrong answer.

So, there will be 100 questions of one mark each, the total time to complete the exam is one hour.

IBPS PO Main Exam Pattern

The IBPS PO main exam pattern consist of 5 sections i.e. Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude,  General Awareness, Computer Knowledge, English Comprehension. Check below table for more information.

So, there will be 200 marks for the Main exam, each question is of one mark, and 0.25 marks will be deducted for every wrong answer.
