Institute of Banking and Personal selection (IBPS) is an autonomous body which is responsible for conducting IBPS 2016 examination in India. The IBPS exam is conducted for recruiting candidates to the posts of Probationary Officer (PO), bank clerk, IT officer through a common written exam (CWE). The Institute of Banking and Personal selection (IBPS) was established in the year 1975 with the objective of recruiting and training candidates on behalf of various banks that are associated with the organization. As of now there are 19 public sector banks that are associated with IBPS for recruiting candidates to various posts in these banks.

IBPS conducts a common written exam known as CWE for recruiting candidates to various posts available in the participating public sector banks. The CWE is conducted almost twice a year (one for bank clerk and other for bank PO/management trainee), the IBPS 2015 -2016 notification is generally announced in the month of October and February every year.

Exam Conducted by IBPS

IBPS Clerical Exam
The IBPS clerical exam is conducted for the recruitment of bank clerks in various banks that are associated with IBPS. The notification of IBPS clerk exam is invited every year in the official website of IBPS. After qualifying IBPS clerk exam candidates are given a scorecard through which they can apply in the interview process of the participating banks.
Note: The IBPS scorecard is valid for one year, during this period candidates can apply to vacancies notified by the respective bank.
IBPS PO/MT Exam
The IBPS Probationary officer (PO)/ Management Trainee (MT) exam is one of the popular exam among the bank aspirant, this exam is conducted by the IBPS for recruiting candidates to the post of PO and MT, both are the officer level post in banking sector. IBPS PO/MT exam is conducted in two tier i.e. pre and mains, candidates who qualify in the pre exam are called for main and then the shortlisted candidates will be called for common interview that will be conducted by the participating banks and co-ordinated by the nodal bank.
IBPS Specialist officer’s exam
The IBPS IBPS Specialist officer’s exam or CWE SO exam is conducted for recruitment to the posts of various specialist officers like IT Officer, Agricultural field officer, law officer, marketing officer etc. for appearing in this exam candidates must have completed his graduation from a specialized discipline.
IBPS CWE RRB’s Exam
The IBPS CWE RRB exam is the common written exam (CWE) for recruitment to the regional rural banks (RRB), this exam is conducted for recruitments to various officer, clerical, or office assistant posts in various regional rural participating banks.
IBPS Registration 2015-2016
The candidates who want to appear in the upcoming IBPS exam, they need to register themselves at the official IBPS website. Candidates have to apply online by filling all the details in the IBPS website and then proceed towards fees payment option.
Candidates applying for the IBPS 2016 exam have to pay the application fees of Rs 100 for ST/SC and PWD candidates, while all other candidates have to pay Rs 600.The fees can be paid through online mode,In online fees payment mode candidates have to pay their fees by using either credit card, debit card or through net banking option.
IBPS Eligibility Criteria
Candidates appearing for the IBPS exam are advised to check the eligibility norms, as only those candidates who fulfill the eligibility conditions will be allowed to appear in the examination.
Candidates must be the Citizen of India or either of the following:
a subject of Nepal or
a subject of Bhutan or
a Tibetan Refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently
Settling in India.
Candidates should be appearing/completed his/her graduation from any recognized university in India.
Candidates should be between 20 to 28 years of age, in order to apply for the exam, though there is relaxation in the upper age limit for the candidates belonging to the reserved category as per the Indian government rules.

IBPS Exam Pattern and Syllabus
IBPS exam pattern is important to understand for the candidates who are appearing in the IBPS exam 2016, the exam syllabus is basically consist of aptitude, reasoning, and general knowledge questtion including banking GK and computer related questions. - The exam is be objective type, having one question with four responses
- Negative marks will be given for wrong answers i.e. 0.25 or 1/4th marks will be deducted
- Test will be bilingually i.e. both Hindi and English

The candidates will qualify the preliminary and mains exam successfully; they will be called for the interview. The IBPS interview will be conducted by the participating organization/banks and will be coordinated by the Nodal bank of the state. The interview will be of 100 marks and the minimum passing marks in the interview will be 40% for general candidates and 35% for reserved category students.
Note: The final merit will be prepared on the combined score of the candidates in the main examination and Interview, it will be 80::20 ratio.
Candidates have to produce all the valid documents at the time of interview; some of these include marksheets, scorecard, identity proof, category certificate etc.
The result of the IBPS exam will be available in the official website; the candidates who have appeared in the IBPS can check their result by visiting the official website. The final qualifying candidates will be sent the joining letter from the respective banks and their training will commence in about 2 months time after the declaration of the result.
