Haryana Teacher Eligibility Test (HTET 2020) is the State Level Entrance test conducted by Board of School Education Haryana (BSEH) to check the capability of the teachers in the state of Haryana.

The Teacher Eligibility Test is conducted every year in the month of January/February for those candidates who desire to make a career in the field of education as a teacher.

The candidates who are qualified in HTET are eligible to teach in Government Schools of Haryana which are recognized by the Department of School Education.

HTET 2020 Salary

The salary of the teachers after passing HTET 2020 is based on the 7th pay commission. Pay band is likely to be around 25000-60000. The salary may increase if the teachers get more qualified and eligible. Following the table for the salary:

HTET 2020 Application Form

All those candidates who want to build their career in the Teaching field need to apply for the application form of HTET through its official website.

Submitting Identification Proof and number is necessary while filling the application form.

Payment can be made through online mode only.

The candidates have to their personal details as asked in the application form and also upload the scanned documents as required. The fees for all the levels are different according to the categories and the details of the same are given in the table below:

HTET 2020 Eligibility Criteria

Following is the educational qualification for HTET 2020:

For Level I (PRT) – Paper I is conducted for Primary Teachers who wants to teach the students of Class I – Class V. Candidates must have at least passed Senior Secondary or equivalent with 45% marks and 2 year Diploma in Elementary Education/Special Education.

For Level II (TGT) – Paper II is conducted for the candidates who want to teach students from Class VI-Class VIII. Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree with 2 years B.Ed/D.Ed or 4 year bachelor in elementary education with 50% in B.A or B.sc.

For Level III (PGT) – Paper III is for those candidates who want to teach Class XI & Class XII. Candidates must possess a Post Graduate (PG) degree with 50% marks in the concerned subject with a B.Ed degree.

They must also have metric with Hindi/Sanskrit or Sr. Secondary/Graduation/Post Graduation with Hindi as one of the subjects.

Note: Relaxation is given to the reserved categories in terms of minimum qualifying marks. Candidates should go through the official notification to know more in detail about the eligibility criteria and relaxation.

HTET 2020 Exam Pattern

Exam mode: Exam will be in offline mode.

Duration: Duration will be two and a half hours for all the levels.

Language: All questions except those of the concerned subject will be bilingual i.e. English and Hindi.

There shall be no negative marking. Following is the exam pattern for Level 1, 2 & 3:

HTET 2020 Syllabus

HTET 2020 Syllabus will contain various topics from the Languages, Haryana GK and awareness, Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning Ability.

The test items on Child Development and Pedagogy will focus on the educational psychology of teaching and learning for the age group of 6-11 years.

The test items of Languages will focus on the skills related to the medium of instructions. Similarly, all the sections will focus on the expertise for the concerned topics.

HTET 2020 Selection Process

There is no such selection process for the post of teachers in different schools, yet this is the marking scheme followed for selection:

  • Written Exam – 80 marks (80%)
  • Personal Interview – 12 marks (12%)
  • Experience – 8 marks (8%)

A personal interview is taken by all the schools with a demo class on the basis of which the candidates are appointed in the school as a teacher.

The validity period of HTET qualifying certificate of appointment is 5 years from the date of declaration of result.

A person can give number of attempts to acquire HTET certificate unless he/she gets selected. Candidates who are not satisfied with the qualifying marks can also give another attempt for improving their performance in it.

HTET 2020 Admit Card

The HTET 2020 admit card will not be sent by post. Candidates will have to download the admit card from the official website of HTET.

In case any discrepancy is noticed by the candidate regarding the details or center, he or she may immediately contact the exam cell for the correction before a prescribed date.

All the candidates are advised to read and understand the instructions on the admit card carefully and duly follow them.

No candidate is allowed to enter the examination center unless he/she produce the admit card with 2 latest colored passport size photograph affixed on it.

HTET 2020 Cut-off

HTET 2020 Cut-off marks will soon be available by the board after the declaration of the result. The result is announced by BSEH through its official website.

The category wise cut-off marks are available in the official website of HTET and candidates can check it by entering the required details.

HTET 2020 Result

The candidates who are declared qualified are awarded a certificate by the Board of School Education, Haryana, Bhiwani. A separate certificate is given by the board to those candidates who appeared and qualified more than one level.

The statement of the marks is available by the board in the official website and candidates can check the result there only by entering their registration number.

Mere qualifying in HTET does not give any right of appointment to the candidate. The appointment depends upon the appointing authorities.
