MAHA TET 2020: Maharashtra Teachers Eligibility Test (MAHA TET) is a exam conducted every year by the Maharashtra State Council of Examination to recruit candidates as teachers in Primary and Higher Primary Schools of the State.

It is a state level examination test which is taken in two parts: Paper – I for those who are applying for the teacher of Class I – Class V and Paper – II for those who are applying for the teacher of Class VI – Class VIII. All the candidates who want to pursue their career in teaching line in the state of Maharashtra shall apply for the MAHA TET and gets qualified in it.

MAHA TET 2020 Vacancy

The MAHA TET is a qualifying exam and hence no such vacancies are released in the notification released by the board. After qualifying the exam, the candidates become eligible to go for interviews in the Government or Private School.

The scorecard and certificate given to the candidates after qualifying the exam is a proof that the candidates have good knowledge about the mentioned topics.

The certificate is given separately for all the levels which also help the schools in getting to know if the candidates can teach a particular class.

MAHA TET 2020 Salary

The salary of the teachers depends upon their eligibility, experience and qualification and also differs from school to school. The salary in the Government school may increase according to the pay commission.

According to a report, the average salary of the teachers in Maharashtra will range between 10000/- to 50000/- or even more depending over various other factors.

MAHA TET 2020 Application Form

All the interested candidates who want to enroll in MAHA TET 2020 should fill the application form from the official website of the board. The form should be filled within the prescribed period. The application forms for MAHA TET 2020 are expected to be available in the first week of April 2020.

At the time of filing the application form, candidates shall make sure that they fulfill the eligibility criteria required to apply for the particular category. Candidates should also read other instructions properly so that no problem occurs in the further process.

No request for the correction of particulars will be entertained by the Board once the date for correction is over. The candidates should keep the hard copy of the application form with themselves for further reference.

MAHA TET 2020 Eligibility Criteria

The basic eligibility criteria say that the:

  • Candidates should be between the age of 18 years and 35years
  • Candidates should be the citizen of India

Eligibility Criteria for Primary Teachers:

  • Must have acquired minimum 45% marks in Senior Secondary/Equivalent examination
  • Must have 2 years diploma in Elementary Education or B.Ed
  • Have completed or appearing in 4 years B.El.Ed are also eligible to apply

Eligibility Criteria for Higher Primary Teachers:

  • Have graduation with minimum 50% marks and a B.Ed degree; or
  • Have passed graduation degree or appearing in final year of 2-year D.El.Ed can also apply
  • Have passed senior secondary with minimum 50% marks & passed or appearing in final year of 4-year B.El.Ed are also eligible to apply

Relaxation of 5% in qualification is provided to the reserved candidates as per the State Government Rules.

MAHA TET 2020 Exam Pattern

Exam mode: The exam will be conducted in offline mode

Duration: The candidates are given one and a half hours to complete the test.

Language: The language of the paper will be bilingual, English and Hindi except the sections that are based on the concerned language subjects for test.

 There will be no negative marking for the wrong answers. Each question consists of one mark.

MAHA TET 2020 Syllabus

The syllabus of MAHA TET 2020 contains various subjects like Child Development & Pedagogy, Mathematics, EVS, Languages, Social Studies and Social Science.

The Paper-I and Paper-II will generally focus on the educational psychology of learning and teaching of the students from Class I – Class V and Class VI – Class VIII respectively.

Candidates are expected to understand the need of the learners and should have qualities of a good facilitator of learning.

Mathematics will consist of topics like Algebra, Mensuration, Arithmetic, Geometry Shapes, etc. Environmental Science will have general topics like Air, Water, Natural resources, System, etc.

The language section will focus on the skills related to the medium of instructions. Similarly, all the sections will focus on the conceptual understanding of the concerned topics.

In Paper- II, the candidates can choose between Mathematics and Science or Social Studies and Social Science. Candidates can also refer NCERT books of the respective classes for which they are giving the test so that they can have better understanding of the subjects. MAHA TET 2020 Selection Process

There is no such selection process in MAHA TET as the selection will be based upon the personal interviews taken by the schools in which the candidate will apply.

The MAHA TET just makes sure that the person is eligible to become a teacher. It does not give the candidate any right to be appointed in the schools.

MAHA TET 2020 Admit Card

The admit card of MAHA TET 2020 is going to be available online in the official website. Candidates have to download that admit card by entering their registration number and password provided at the time of online application.

In case any discrepancy is noticed by the candidate regarding their personal details or center, he or she may immediately contact the exam cell for the correction before a prescribed date.

All the candidates are advised to read and understand the instructions on the admit card carefully and duly follow them. The mandatory documents and proof that is required to be bring along with the admit card is also mentioned in the admit card.

No candidate is allowed to enter the examination center unless he/she produce the admit card. The admit card is generally available one week before the exams.

MAHA TET 2020 Cut-Off Marks

MAHA TET 2020 Cut-off marks will soon be available by the board after the declaration of the result. The result is announced by the council through its official website.

The MAHA TET cut-off marks are the minimum marks required to get qualified in the exam.

The category wise cut-off marks might be provided in the official website of MAHA TET and candidates can check it by entering the required details.

The cut-off for a particular examination depends upon the number of candidates appearing, difficulty level of the exam, number of seats available, etc.

For now, we can just provide you last year cut-off list and with that you can get an idea about the performance of the candidates applying for different categories. The candidates are required to acquire the minimum marks to get qualified in the examinations. The expected cut-off list based on the assumptions by taking previous year results in view:

MAHA TET 2020 Result

A merit list is released by the board in its official site and the candidates who are declared qualified are awarded a certificate by the State Council of Examination. Most probably the MAHA TET 2020 result will be declared in the month of August. A separate certificate is given by the board to those candidates who appeared and qualified more than one level.

Students can check their MAHA TET result by logging in to the official website and then selecting the result option. The result is shown on the screen when the students fill in the required details like application id, roll number, etc. & click on submit button.

The answer key is also available on the site few days before the announcement of the result. The statement of the marks is available by the board in the official website and candidates can check the result there only by entering their registration number.

Mere qualifying in MAHA TET does not give any right of appointment to the candidate. The appointment depends upon the appointing authorities or the schools conducting the interview.
