Himachal Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (HP TET 2020) is a test conducted by the Himachal Pradesh Board of Secondary Education (HPBOSE) to determine the eligibility of the candidates who want to be recruited as teachers in the schools of Himachal Pradesh.

HP TET is a state level teaching qualifying test for conducted every year in the month of June. The test is held for different languages and different subjects Medical, Non-medical TET, Language TET, TGT Arts TET, TGT Medical TET, Punjabi TET, Urdu TET. HP Teacher 2020 Vacancy

  • The vacancies for teachers in Himachal Pradesh will be released soon by the Officials after the release of official notification about the test. The vacancy details will be provided subject wise and category wise too.
  • The vacancies for teachers will be notified by the HP PSC in their official notification.
  • Any change in the number of vacancies will be notified by the board in its official site.

Salary in Teaching

The salary of Himachal Pradesh Teachers is decided as per the government norms. But generally the pay scale is in between Rs 18000/- and Rs 35000/-.

The salary differs according to the qualification, experience and the eligibility of the teachers. Moreover, the salary varies from one school to another (in case of private schools).

HP TET 2020 Application Form

All the interested candidates should fill the HP TET 2020 application form from the official website of the board. The form should be fulfilled within the prescribed period.

At the time of filing the application form, candidates shall make sure that they fulfill the eligibility criteria required to apply for the particular category. Candidates should also read other instructions properly so that no problem occurs in the further application process.

No request for the correction of particulars will be entertained by the Board once the date for correction is over. The candidates should keep the hard copy of the application form with themselves for further reference.

Application Fee

  • The fees is Rs 800/- for general candidates
  • Rs 500/- for SC/ST/OBC/PHH
  • Payment Mode: Fee can be paid either online – by using credit card/debit card/net banking or offline – by generating challan and submitting it to the nearest SBI branch. The reference no. printed in challan can be used as reference in the next step of filing the form.

HP TET 2020 Eligibility Criteria

Following are the eligible criteria of different category for HP TET 2020 exams. Candidates should have any one of the following qualification to be eligible for the test.

  1. TGT (Arts)
  • BA/B.com with minimum 50% marks and one year B.Ed
  • Senior Secondary or equivalent with minimum 50% marks and 4 year B.El.Ed
  • Senior secondary or equivalent with minimum 50% marks or 4 year BA.Ed
  1. TGT (Non-Medical)
  • B.Sc (NM) with minimum 50% marks & 1 year B.Ed
  • B.Sc (NM) with minimum 50% marks & 1 year B.Ed (Special Education)
  • B.Sc (NM) with minimum 45% marks & 1 year B.Ed as per NCTE
  • Class 12th with minimum 50% marks & 4 years B.Sc (NM)Ed
  • Class 12th with minimum 50% marks & 4 years B.El.Ed
  1. TGT (Medical)
  • B.Sc (Medical) with minimum 50% marks & 1 year B.Ed
  • B.Sc (Medical) with minimum 50% marks & 1 year B.Ed (Special Education)

  • With minimum 50% marks in any discipline from any university or institute recognized by Himachal Pradesh Government for this purpose
  1. The eligibility criteria for the other language teachers is same as above except the concerned languages like Punjab/Urdu
  2. Junior Based Training (JBT)
  • Class 12th with minimum 50% marks & 2 years D.El.Ed
  • Class 12th with minimum 50% marks & 2 years JBT Certificate
  • Class 12th with minimum 45% marks & 2 years D.El.Ed as per NCTE
  • Class 12th with minimum 50% marks & 4 years B.El.Ed
  • Class 12th with minimum 50% marks & 2 years D.El.Ed (Special Education)

HP TET 2020 Exam Pattern

The exam pattern for HP TET 2020 is given below.

Exam mode: Exam will be in offline mode.

Duration: Duration will be total two and a half hours given for all the levels.

Language: All questions except those of the concerned subject will be bilingual i.e. English and Hindi.

HP TET 2020 Syllabus

HP TET 2020 Syllabus will contain various topics from the Languages, Himachal Pradesh GK and awareness, Social Studies and Environmental Science. The test items on Child Development and Pedagogy will focus on the educational psychology of teaching and learning for the children belonging to different groups.

The test items of Languages will focus on the skills related to the medium of instructions. Similarly, all the sections will focus on the expertise for the concerned topics.

HP TET 2020 Selection Process

All the qualified candidates are shortlisted for the selection and the document verification process where the candidates have to show the following documents:

  • HP TET 2020 Admit Card
  • Mark sheets of all the qualifying examinations
  • Community Certificate (if applicable)
  • Nativity Certificate
  • Scorecard of HP TET 2020
  • Result Copy of HP TET

The further selection process is managed by the Himachal Pradesh board of Secondary Education (HPBOSE) which includes personal interview by the concerned authorities.

HP TET 2020 Admit Card

Candidates will have to download the admit card of HP TET 2020 from the official website of the board.

In case any mistake or discrepancy is noticed by the candidate regarding the details or center, he or she may immediately contact the exam cell for the correction before a prescribed date.

All the candidates are advised to read and understand the instructions on the admit card carefully and duly follow them.

No candidate is allowed to enter the examination center unless he/she produce the admit card with 2 latest colored passport size photograph affixed on it.

The HP TET admit card is generally available one week before the exams.

HP TET 2020 Cut Off

HP TET 2020 Cut-off marks will soon be available by the board after the declaration of the result. The result is announced by HPBOSE through its official website.

The category wise cut-off marks are available in the official website of HP TET 2020 and candidates can check it by entering the required details.

The cut-off for a particular examination depends upon the number of candidates appearing, difficulty level of the exam, number of seats available, etc.

For now, we can just provide you last year cut-off list and with that you can get an idea about the performance of the candidates applying for different categories.

HP TET 2020 Result

A merit list is released by the board in its official site and the candidates who are declared qualified are awarded a certificate by the Himachal Pradesh of Board Education.

Most probably the HP TET 2020 result will be declared in the month of July in the form of a scorecard. A separate certificate is given by the board to those candidates who appeared and qualified more than one level.

Students can check their result by logging in to the official website and then selecting the result option. The result is displayed on the screen when the students fill in the required details like application id, roll number, etc. & click on submit button.

The answer sheet is also available on the site few days before the announcement of the HP TET 2020 result. The statement of the marks is available by the board in the official website and candidates can check the result there only by entering their registration number.

Mere qualifying in HP TET does not give any right of appointment to the candidate. The appointment depends upon the recruitment process conducted by the appointing authorities .
