CLAT 2016 – Application Form, Exam Pattern, Eligibility Criteria

clat examCLAT (Common Law Admission Test) is an All India Entrance Test for admission to various Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Integrated Law Courses offered by 16 National Law Universities located across the country. The examination is conducted every year by anyone of said NLUs on rotation base. This year The CLAT 2016 law entrance examination will be conducted by the Chanakya National Law University, Patna. It will be an Online Computer Based Test (CBT).

CLAT 2016 Eligibility Norms

  1. For Under Graduate courses, Candidates should be completed 12th or its equivalent examination from any recognized board with minimum 45% marks for general category and 40% marks for SC/ST candidates.
  2. For Post Graduate courses, candidates should be completed LLB/Integrated LLB degree or its equivalent degree with minimum 55% marks for general category and 50% marks for SC/ST candidates from a recognized university.
  3. There is not any upper age limit for CLAT 2016 onwards as per order issued by the Honorable Supreme Court of India.
  4. The candidates must be Indian or NRIs only.
  5. The candidates appearing the final year exam of qualifying examination may also apply but they would be produced the passing certificate of qualifying examination during the admission process.

CLAT 2016 Online Registration

There will only online registration process to apply the CLAT 2016 for UG and PG courses. The candidates must visit the official portal of CLAT and avail the online registration process by entering their personal, academic and fee details. The application fee is Rs 4000/- for general and Rs 3500/- fro reserved categories. CLAT 2016 application fee would be remitted through the net banking or debit/credit card. Under the registration process, candidates will upload their photo, signature and thumb impression as per the given instructions. The candidates must secure their ID, Password and application number for further reference.

CLAT 2016 Exam Pattern

The CLAT 2016 examination will be a Computer Based Test (CBT). There will be separate papers for UG and PG courses. Each paper will be of 2 hour duration and there will be 25% of total marks negative marking for each wrong answer.

CLAT 2016 Admit Card

The admit Card/Hall Ticket of CLAT 2016 will be available online via official site of the conduction university or the portal of CLAT 2016 examination in third week of April 2016. The candidates can download their admit card by login their user ID and by entering their registration number and name in given space.

CLAT 2016 Result Declaration

The result will be declared in third week of May 2016 on official portal of CLAT. Result declaration will be held followed by the rank list (All India Rank) which will be considered in Online Admission and seat allotment process.
