Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will conduct the CTET 2020 exam. It is organized to set the eligibility of candidates for appointment as a teacher for class I to VIII. CTET certificate will be valid for seven years from the date of declaration of result.

CTET (Central Teacher Eligibility Test) comprises of two papers, i.e. paper 1 and paper 2. Paper 1 is conducted for candidates who wish to teach from I class to V and paper 2 is conducted for teaching in class VI to VIII.

CTET 2020 Application Form

Candidates must check the instructions given below before filling the application form:

  • CBSE board will release the CTET 2020 Application Form via online mode.
  • Candidates can fill the application form from the first week of February 2020.
  • Candidates must provide their complete mailing address with Postal PIN Code.
  • Upload the scanned images of photograph and signature in the application.
  • The images should be uploaded in JPG/JPEG format.
  • Corrections in the particulars can be made during the correction period.

CTET 2020 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must satisfy the CTET 2020 Eligibility Criteria before apply for the exam:

Eligibility for Paper 1 (Primary Class):

  • Candidates must have a graduation degree with 50% marks and B.Ed or
  • 12th with 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2- year Diploma in Elementary Education.
  • There is no upper age limit to apply.
  • 10+2 with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4- year Bachelor of Elementary Education.

Eligibility for Paper 2 (Elementary Class):

  • Graduation and passed or appearing Diploma in Elementary Education.
  • Graduation degree with minimum 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education.
  • 12th with 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of B.EI.Ed.

CTET 2020 Syllabus

Candidates should prepare for the exam as per the syllabus. CTET Syllabus for paper 1 & 2 is given below:

Syllabus for Paper 1:

  • Child development and pedagogy – Child development, Concept of inclusive education and understanding children with special needs, Learning and pedagogy.
  • Language I – Language comprehension, Pedagogy of language development.
  • Language II – Comprehension, Pedagogy of language development.
  • Mathematics – Pedagogical issues, Geometry, Solids around us, Addition and subtraction, Measurement, Data handling, Patterns etc.
  • Environmental studies – Pedagogical issues, Family and friends, Work and play, Relationships, Things we make and do.

Syllabus for Paper II:

  • Child development and pedagogy – Child development, Concept of inclusive education and understanding children with special needs, Learning and pedagogy.

CTET 2020 Selection Process

The candidates will be selected on the basis of their performance in the entrance test. Firstly, they have to score at least 60% marks to qualify the exam.

After qualifying CTET 2020, candidates can apply for the post of teachers from Class I to Class VIII. A certificate will be issued to the qualified candidates. It will be valid for seven years from the date of announcement of result.

Candidates can apply for the post of Teacher in various private and central government schools after clearing the exam.

CTET 2020 Admit Card

Downloading of the admit card will be started from the last week of June 2020. It will be available through the website.

In case of any discrepancy noticed in CTET 2020 admit card, candidates must report to the CTET Unit for necessary corrections. Candidates must report to the exam centre before 90 minutes from the starting of exam.

Candidates must read all the instructions presented in the admit card and follow it accordingly. No candidates will be able to write the exam with admit card.

CTET 2020 Answer Key

After the completion of examination, the copy of OMR sheet and answer key will be released. CTET 2020 Answer Key will be released within a week after the exam.

Candidates can also seek a photocopy of their OMR Sheet along with calculation sheet by paying the required fees (Rs. 500) through demand draft. The board will also offer the facility to challenge the answer key.

CTET 2020 Cut-off

The cut-off is the minimum percentile or marks, candidates have to score in order to qualify the exam. The CBSE board has fixed the qualifying cut-off which is 60%.

Candidates who score 60% or above are considered qualified in the CTET exam. The CTET 2020 Cut-off will be released through online mode only.

CTET 2020 Result

CTET 2020 Result will be declared in the first week of August 2020. Candidates can get their result via online mode.

No request for re-checking, re-assessment & re-evaluation will be entertained by the board. CTET result will be released within six months from the date of conduct of exam.

CTET certificate will be valid for seven years from the date of declaration of result. CTET qualified candidates can appear again for this exam to improve their performance.
