Central Teacher Ability Test (CTET) is conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) twice in a year. It is a qualifying test for those candidates who want to make their career as a teacher for classes I to VIII in Central Government Schools. For appearing in this exam candidates must have passed class 12th with 50% marks and have qualified two years diploma in Elementary Education or candidates must be graduate with any stream and have a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) degree also. It is a good opportunity for those candidates who are willing for jobs in teaching field. Every year a number of vacancies are opened in the teaching sector.

CTET 2016 Application

Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), Delhi is going to release the notification for CTET on December 2015. Interested candidates can apply for CTET 2016 online. Eligible and interested candidates can apply for CTET 2016 examfrom December 2015 to January 2016. Only online application will be accepted. Eligibility Criteria for CTET 2016

Candidates have passed class 12th with minimum 50% marks from a recognized board and have qualified two years diploma in Elementary Education.

OR

Candidates have completed graduation with minimum 50% marks from a recognized university and have qualified or appearing in last year of Bachelor in Education (B.Ed).

Examination Pattern for CTET 2016

There are two papers in CTET. Paper 1 is for those candidates who intend to be a primary teacher (for classes (I to V) and paper 2 is for those candidates who intends to be a teacher for classes V to VIII. Those candidates who intend to be teacher for both the levels have to appear in both papers. Both the paper of CTET is of objective type Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ’s). Each question will carry one mark. There will be no negative marking.

Paper 1 (for classes I to V)

It includes Subjects like Child Development and Pedagogy, Language, Mathematics, Environmental Studies. This paper consist of 150 questions each question carrying one mark. Duration of paper 1 is two and a half hours.

Paper 2 (for classes VI to VIII)

How to apply for CTET 2016

Candidates who are going to apply for CTET 2016 go through the following steps.

  • Firstly visit the official site of CTET then click for downloading the application form.
  • Fill the application form with all the necessary details and upload your recent photograph and upload your signature and submit the application.
  • Print the challan form and pay the fees through bank.
  • After paying the fees submit fee details on the website and save the registration no. for future use.

Application Fee for CTET 2016

Application fee for Paper I or Paper II is Rs.600 for General/OBC category candidates and RS.300 for SC/ST candidates.

Application fee for both Paper I and Paper II is Rs.1000 for General/OBC candidates and Rs.500 for SC/ST candidates.

CTET 2016 Result

The result of CTET Paper I is announced after 1 month of the examination. Candidates who are applying for CTET 2016 which will be held on 21 February 2016 can check result in the official website of CTET.
